Business Process Improvement

Business Process Improvement helps teams understand how work is performed, identify challenges, and design more effective ways of working.

When this may help:

  • A process is unclear, inconsistent, or overly complex
  • Teams experience delays, duplication, or difficult handoffs
  • Business needs must be understood before changing technology
  • Leaders need analysis to support a decision

How we can help

  • Gather and clarify business requirements
  • Document current and future processes
  • Facilitate stakeholder conversations
  • Identify gaps, root causes, and improvement opportunities
  • Develop practical, data-informed recommendations

Availability

Support is prioritized for Technology Services-owned and supported services and projects, as well as Office of the CIO strategic initiatives. Other university IT groups may also receive support when capacity allows.

Change Management

What is change management?

Change Management helps people understand, prepare for, adopt, and sustain changes to technology, processes, roles, and ways of working.

When this may help

  • A new system, service, or process will change how people work
  • Multiple groups will experience the change differently
  • Stakeholder awareness, readiness, or support
  • Success depends on adopting new behaviors or practices

How the IT EPMO Can Help

Using a structured, people-centered approach, we can help teams:

  • Assess stakeholder impacts and readiness
  • Develop a practical change strategy
  • Plan stakeholder engagement and communication
  • Identify learning and support needs
  • Gather feedback and monitor adoption
  • Adjust the approach as needs emerge

Change management is most effective when it begins early and remains integrated with project delivery.
